Nikki and I have known each other for about 7 years. Nikki and Zach were one of my first couples sessions when I began in 2017. Of course, I cringe now looking at their first session. I love when clients stick with me through the years. It's so much fun to compare the growth between the photos!
Nikki and Zach's wedding was a perfect summer day for two childhood sweethearts to tie the knot. The mood of the day was so sweet as parents and friends recounted stories of their friendship through the years and how they couldn't imagine anyone better for each other.
Nikki told me what seems forever ago that their wedding would be sunflower themed. Boy did she deliver. The details were just perfect! A country girls dream, with painted mason jars full of sunflowers, sunflower bouquets, and a sunny floral arch. Of course I had to use her sunflower bouquet for some ring shots. I also loved the way her embroidered bridal cowgirl boots looked on the wood floor of the bridal barn with the hem of Nikki's dress in the background as she stood getting buttoned by her mom (Pro-tip: If your dress has buttons, be sure to bring a crochet hook the day of, but remember even with the help of the hook this may be a time consuming task.)
There was a first look with Nikki's dad, sentimental toasts, and a mother-son dance that left the whole room in tears (or was it just me?).
Enjoy a look through Nikki and Zach's Summer Sunflower Wedding.
A heat index of 106 degrees Fahrenheit meant that a key element of the day would be keeping the guests cool. Galvanized metal tubs of ice cold bottled water, and wedding programs printed on to paper fans kept anyone from getting overheated at the ceremony. Industrial sized fans kept the guests cool during the reception.
